Barak Valley News : A young man named Rakib Hossain Laskar (27) was stabbed to death in front of a pub called S Cube Bar in Pakipar near Kabuganj. Police have arrested a young man named Mangal in connection with the murder of Rakib, a resident of Narsinghpur Part 2. Mangal is a resident of Bhagabazar Bongram. According to a special source, the murder took place due to a dispute over drug dealing. Police have arrested Mangal. In addition to the arrests, the role of several others behind the entire incident is also being investigated.

Rakib was a driver by profession. He used to drive a car for a person named Naju Hossain Laskar, a resident of Narsinghpur Part 2. According to various sources in the area, after Rakib went to a bar, he got into an argument with a group of youths sitting inside. After a while, Rakib's car owner Naju reached there. At around 8 pm, he went to the bar.

Upon arrival, Naju slapped Mangal several times. Mangal and his companions left the bar as usual, but after a while, more companions arrived in a Bolero car. At that time, Rakib had gone to buy something at a paan shop in front of the bar. Suddenly, Mangal allegedly went in front of him and stabbed him in the neck with a knife. Rakib fell down bleeding.

Meanwhile, Naju and others came out and took Rakib to Silchar Medical College Hospital. After reaching the hospital, the doctors declared Rakib dead.

Naju said that first, the Mangals had an argument with Rakib inside the bar. Then Rakib called him and told him about the matter. He then appeared at the bar. However, Naju claimed that he did not know why there was an argument.

However, according to a special source, there was a quarrel between the two parties over drug dealing. A young man named Sumit from Motinagar also played a special role in this quarrel. Shortly after the incident on Friday night, the police arrested Mangal. It is known about Mangal that he is the son of Abidur Rahman, a notorious drug mafia from Bongram in Bhagabazar. His mother Bilkis Begum is also a notorious name in the drug trade. Mangal has a car wash and decorator business near the Hindustan Petroleum petrol pump in Bhagabazar. On the other hand, it is known about Naju that he has also been accused of being involved in many criminal activities in the past. A police source said that Mangal has already confessed to the murder, but said that he had no intention of killing Rakib. His main target was Naju. Naju arrived when they were sitting in a bar and drinking. He already knew Naju. Naju started abusing them as soon as he entered the bar. This led to an argument between him and Naju. At one point, Naju started beating him. In this situation, he later came to attack Naju. Then Rakib stepped forward to stop him. And in anger, he stabbed Rakib in the neck with a knife.

After the autopsy of Rakib's body at Silchar Medical College Hospital on Saturday, Samajhe was handed over to the family members. Rakib's body reached Kabuganj by 4 pm. Tension prevailed in the area when the body reached Kabuganj. The agitated crowd blocked the road by placing the body on the road, demanding strict punishment for the culprit. On receiving the news, Dhalai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kulendra Hazuri rushed to the spot with his team and after about half an hour of blockade, he persuaded the agitated crowd to clear the road blockade. A police source said that apart from Sumit of Motinagar, the role of Naju is also being investigated in this incident.
